Blackbird Lullaby is a metaphor for facing the shadows within ourselves and realising that when we integrate them into our everyday day existence they become our biggest gifts.

London based artist - Phoenix Of The Lakes creates music that is sonically and thematically unique. Embedding her "spooky beautiful," ethereal vocals within a backdrop of atmospheric, cinematic, Indie pop, she draws on themes of dreams vs reality, past vs present, and facing the shadows within ourselves. She was a featured singer in Riverdance.
Anchored around her soulful vocals and lyricism her "haunting" sound combines soaring strings, melancholy guitar, piano/keyboards and electronica all draped over commanding pop-infused percussion. The pianist singer songwriter draws upon influences from classic artists like Kate Bush and Tori Amos with contemporary pop elements remindful of Lana Del Rey and London Grammar.
She is currently in the studio completing her album. The album will blend an array of musical influences that have shaped her an an artist. They range from pop and rock to classical and cinematic music, coalescing into her own unique sound. "I don't believe in musical boundaries. I think you can mix styles together and create whatever you like."

"I always sang other people's music, yet dreamed of writing my own. I wanted to step out of that box, face my own shadow and create my own music. I want to encourage others to face their own shadows and pursue their dreams - whatever they may be."
